Terms of Service

Effective date: June 10, 2026

Welcome to The Muletowner — a free newsletter and website covering Columbia, Tennessee and Maury County, operated at themuletowner.com (the “Service”). By subscribing to the newsletter or using the website, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

The Service

The Muletowner publishes a free weekly email newsletter, occasional text messages, and a website featuring local events, food and drink, things to do, and community news. The Service is provided free of charge and supported by advertising and sponsorships.

Subscriptions, email, and SMS

Subscribing is free. By signing up you agree to receive our newsletter by email and, if you provide your mobile number, occasional text messages. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to opt out and HELP for assistance. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your information.

Event listings and accuracy

We work hard to get dates, times, prices, and details right, but events change, get canceled, and sell out. Listings are provided for convenience and are not a guarantee. Always confirm details with the venue or organizer before making plans. We are not responsible for changes, cancellations, or errors in third-party event information.

Our content

The newsletter, website, and everything in them — articles, guides, logos, images, and design — are owned by The Muletowner or our licensors and protected by copyright and trademark law. You may share links and brief excerpts with attribution; you may not republish, scrape, or commercially reuse our content without permission.

Your submissions

We love tips, photos, and event submissions. By sending us material, you confirm you have the right to share it and you grant The Muletowner a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, edit, and publish it in the newsletter, on the website, and on our social channels, with or without attribution. We’re not obligated to publish any submission.

Acceptable use

  • Don’t use the Service for anything unlawful.
  • Don’t attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Service.
  • Don’t scrape, harvest, or bulk-collect content or subscriber information.
  • Don’t misrepresent yourself when submitting tips or events.

Advertising and sponsored content

The Service is supported by local advertisers. Sponsored content is clearly labeled. An ad or sponsorship is not an endorsement, and advertisers are solely responsible for their own products, services, and claims.

Third-party links

We link to outside websites and services we don’t control and aren’t responsible for. Use them at your own discretion and review their terms and policies.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Muletowner and its founders, staff, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service will not exceed one hundred dollars ($100).

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Muletowner from claims arising out of your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time by unsubscribing. We may suspend or discontinue any part of the Service, or refuse service to anyone, at any time.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Tennessee.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be posted here with its effective date; continued use of the Service after changes means you accept them.
